The Central Park Pumping Station Electrification project is to convert a steam-powered pumping station to electrically driven pumps, and rehabilitate and upgrade the electrical services to the pump station.
The Jardine Water Purification Plant (JWPP), is the largest capacity water filtration plant in the world, located in Chicago, Illinois. It draws raw water from two of the city's water cribs far offshore in Lake Michigan and sends nearly one billion gallons (4 million m3) of water per day to consumers in the north and central portions of the city. CMT is the lead engineer for the Chlorine Upgrade. This upgrade encompasses the addition of a redundant chlorine scrubber, modifications to the existing SCADA System to align the Chlorine Control Room with the JWPP SCADA Control Room and upgrades to the existing evaporators, chlorinators and chlorinator flow controllers (26) to a new control platform.
The South Water Purification Plant project includes the installation of generators with paralleling switchgear in a permanent structure to provide emergency power for the plant to the Main 2300V Switchgear. IDCS served as a resident for the Electrical scope of the construction
IDCS was contracted to perform Electrical Engineering Services for the Condition Assessment of the South Water Purification Plant
The Albany Park Stormwater Diversion Tunnel project consists of a 5700 foot long 18 foot finished diameter rock tunnel located beneath Foster Avenue in the City of Chicago. This tunnel will divert excess stormwater from the North Branch of the Chicago River (NBCR) to the North Shore Channel (NSC). IDCS was responsible for all power, lighting, and security camera design for the pump station and the inlet, as well as the control design which needed to be coordinated between both the City of Chicago Department of Transportation and MWRDGC.
IDCS was contracted to perform Electrical Engineering Services for the Condition Assessment of the South Water Purification Plant. These services included 2 site assessments of all of the facilities at the plant.
IDCS was contracted to perform Electrical Engineering Construction Services during the construction portion of the JWPP/SWPP Emergency Paging System Upgrades Project.
Intelligent Design and Construction Services, LLC was a subcontractor providing electrical, instrumentation and CAD services during construction.
This project encompasses a largely electrical scope with some minor civil, structural, and architectural scope. This project is anticipated to last approximately 40 months total, including one month of mobilization and one month of demobilization.
