IDCS completed the Electrical and Instrumentation design for a new wastewater treatment facility for the treatment of contaminated groundwater, as well as the associated new Administration and Maintenance Buildings. This project had additional complications due to the hazardous ground water conditions and the coordination with other concurrent phases of work designed by others. IDCS worked hand in hand with the engineers and architects of MWH, Inc. for all of the power and control needs of the new facilities. The new facilities required a new incoming power supply and distribution of power and lighting as required by each building. This project was completed with the design intention of meeting the United States Army Corps of Engineers' SPiRiT system of sustainability. Control was based on distributed programmable logic controllers in each segment of control in the wastewater treatment plant. For this project, it was required that all design be completed using Microstation.
