Largest CTA Fueling facility, that includes bus maintenance (both light and heavy duty) as well as bus washing. This facility services over 400 buses a day. IDCS involvement in the site improvements and remediation project was both mechanical and electrical in nature. IDCS worked with CDM to develop a plan to modify the pressure control system for existing fuel delivery equipment at the site. IDCS was tasked with modifying the diesel fuel transfer pump controls at the dispensing islands with an auto shutoff feature in order to minimize over-pressurization of underground fuel lines when not in use while also providing remote monitoring/selection capabilities of the diesel fuel pumps (lead/lag pumps) from the pump house. IDCS also designed new solenoid controls (valves/actuators) in the pump house for the six (6) existing diesel fuel oil storage tanks, the replacement of tank level sensor controls, and the circuitry necessary to tie in tank controls to the Veeder Root control system in the Diesel Fueling Building IDCS was responsible for the design of the electrical power distribution (branch circuitry) to replace fueling pumps and control equipment while utilizing existing building service and distribution wherever possible.
